This is probably the longest I've ever gone without posting and I hate it.  I've thought about it quite a bit lately but just haven't gotten around to it. It could be because I don't really have anything to write about-but really that is a big fat lie. I have so much that I want to say. Our lives have changed so much in the last two months.We were listening to the 90's weekend on Star 94 yesterday morning and the song One Headlight by the Wallflowers came on. There is a line in the song that says, "I ain't changed but I know I ain't the same" and that is so how I feel right now.

I'm not sure I really want to get in to everything yet. Maybe one day. For now, I just wanted to check in and give you the pleasure of seeing a new post even if it isn't a great one. :)

We have two weeks (and one day) until the Thanksgiving Holiday and my good man and I are heading to his parent's house with all of his brothers. The weather is nice and fallish and Rooster is as much of a mess as ever. The Razorbacks had a great game on Saturday and I have a cold Diet Dr. Pepper in my hand. God is good and I'll be back soon.

Pressing the Shady Button

My dad says I've been shady and that I need to update the old blog. 

I don't really have anything very exciting I can write about right now so I'll just make a list of things going on. 

- School is going well. I have a good class this year but things are just so busy! I don't remember things being this busy last year...but I guess they probably were. 

-Rooster is a mess. His puppy teeth have been falling out like crazy. He's lost at least four this week alone!

-I've been reading Enjoying the Small Things for a while and I love her take on life and family. She was giving out a gift subscription to a meal planning website called Relish. It was so fun to use this week and  it gave us some fun new recipes and ideas for supper. I used it to plan the meals for next week too!

-We've been so excited about Razorback Football! Some things came up and we had to sell our AR/AL tickets but we are still going to get to go to the Vandy game in October! Football and the cooler weather we've had the past two days are making me ready for FALL!

-Today, my good man and I have been "together" for 10 years! It is so funny to think back on this time ten years ago when we had our first date...to Popeyes. We liked to keep it classy even back then.

And September Begins...

One thing my good man and I like to do together is sing. 

He plays his guitar and we look up tabs and lyrics to songs and belt them out. (We do a mean Islands in the Stream, by the way). The other night we were looking for some new jams and went to the Billboard Chart website to see the top 10 country songs of the week. We only knew two or three of the songs and didn't really like any of them enough to sing. Then we went to the same week in 1990 and knew all of them! We had the best time singing things Down at the Twist and Shout and Down to My Last Teardrop! We got the biggest kick out of having to go back twenty years to find some good songs. 

In other news, Razorback Football starts today! We've been bummed that it is only on Pay Per View because I refuse to pay $35 to watch them play Missouri. I also don't really want to drive to Buckhead for the Alumni Watch-Party. BUT today we realized that people out of AR can get it on ESPN Live.So excited to stay home and call those Hogs tonight!

Ole Rooster is going just fine too. I took him for his last round of booster shots today so this little dog is ready to take on the word.
Or at least the park.

He weighs 14 pounds!

He's come a long way from the night we got him when he couldn't even figure out how to jump down the step in our hallway.

He still loves to cuddle up on you and sleep though.

Our Weekend

I love weekends. 

The older I get the more I appreciate them. Even if I don't really do a lot. 

My good man and I ended up hitting the Grant Park garage sales Saturday morning.

Of course, we hung around with Rooster all weekend. Some friends came over yesterday and taught him how to "sit" so we've had fun with that! 

He likes to stretch out in the sun.

He gets jealous when you take pictures of your garage sale stuff and not him. 

So then he tries to chew on your camera strap. 

Then he looks up at you with his puppy dog eyes when you tell him "NO!" 

Here he is the night we got him...so funny how much he has changed!

7:38 on Saturday morning...

It's 7:38 on Saturday morning and I am wide awake. 

I've already taken Rooster out, made coffee, and cleaned the guinea pig cage.

My good man got home late last night from a trip and he's still asleep. I'm in here trying to keep my hyper-active puppy from squeaking that stupid yellow ball and seriously considering going ahead with our daily walk right now...at 7:38 on Saturday. 

In a way though, I actually did get to "sleep in" today. My new- getting ready for work routine- this year involves getting up at 5:00 so there is enough time to take Rooster on a good walk and get myself ready without having to rush around too much. Of course, when I wake up at 5:00 I can barely keep my eyes open by 9:15 that night.  That whole going to bed at 9:15 thing doesn't leave a lot of room for updating the blog by the time I hang out with the husband and watch an episode (or two) of Breaking Bad-which is amazing, by the way. 

Anyway. 

I'm going to go drink some coffee and enjoy my Saturday morning since it is now 7:44 on Saturday.

It's Been a While.

Well, another school year has begun and (so far) I can't complain! 

My summer was a lot of fun but it was time to get back to it. I figure as long as I still get excited by sharp crayons, new sharpies, and the smell of pencils every year I'm in the right profession. 

My 22 girls seems to be really sweet this year. Here are a few pictures from my room.

This is what it is like trying to get a picture of him now...

He had his rabies shot yesterday so he is almost ready to roll in the park. 

He's losing his teeth and he weighs 11 pounds. 

He is such a fun little dog!

He is doing really well in the crate and lets us know when he needs to go outside-most of the time. 

He likes to play fetch down our hallway and here you can see the boxes my good man set up for him.  

He loves to curl up on the rug and sleep and he is finally sleeping all through the night! 

He loves steer sticks but he can go through a small one in a day now. Here we are with his new one...should last him a while...and help get rid of the rest of those razor puppy teeth.

Catching Up

This morning I got an email and "Inactive Blog" was in the subject line.  

It was from my dad and all it said was, "Beach report? Pictures of Rooster? Gripes about work?"

Point taken. I was gone for a while and busy around here when I got back. 

I made the trek to Tampa last week to visit one of my good friends and her two cute kids and then I drove to Orange Beach to visit with some family. I didn't take a lot of pictures but here we go...

We lived it up like true adults and the two of us went to Disney World! I was one of the few people in the world who had never been. I paid an insane amount of money for a one day ticket so we ran around like crazy to make the most of it.

This is one of my all time favorite movies so I made sure we stopped.

We also went to the beach one day and the water was beautiful.

I have done the beach things many many times in my life. I LOVE going to the beach but on this trip I learned that I have been doing it WRONG.

I cannot explain how nice it was to sit in that chair and read my book up off of the sand in the shade.

I'm a changed woman! I have seen the error of my ways. 

P.S. I've already informed my good man that we will be buying two of those chairs.

This is the only recent picture I have of Rooster. He's all curled up on some shopping bags in the floor. 

He grew out of his harness while I was gone. He still sleeps a lot but is about 1000 times more hyper when he is awake. We've been taking him on two thirty minute walks a day which help a lot. It is good exercise for us too. 

Work starts back tomorrow and I hope I don't have many gripes. :)

My Momma's Wedding

The wedding was in the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum which has the USS Razorback submarine next to it. It ended up being a really neat location with several things to see and do during the reception (you could take a tour of the submarine, visit the museum, feed the turtles and fish, or feast on some BBQ.)

Dog Tired

I took Rooster out for a walk this morning and look at him now...

He's been curled up on the couch for an hour. 

Of course, this is nothing new or strange I guess. 

Here he is stretched out on the middle console on our trek back to Atlanta.
