Strawberries!

A few weeks ago I planted a strawberry plant just to say I did. I didn't really expect much from it because I have killed just about every plant I've ever touched. Seriously. I have killed not one but two -TWO-bromeliads and I've heard they are supposed to live forever.

First, I was so excited when it starting blooming...

then I was excited to see these cute little green strawberries popping up...

and then this morning we got to eat the first strawberry.

And it was delicious.

And red.

And perfect.

And I've got my eye on that other one for tomorrow.

The Love of My Life

I think most of you probably know that my good man and I have been hanging out together for a long time. It will be 10 years this September, in fact. There are so many things about him that I love and one of those is that he always keeps my laughing. Always.

I told you a long time ago that we don't have many great pictures together. Almost every time we try to take a picture it takes us nine tries because he makes all these funny faces. You can read about that here.

Of course he still does that but his latest thing is snapping pictures while we are still getting ready for the picture. He doesn't do it on pictures of us but on pictures of other people. Check out some of his work during our Spring Break trip to The Rock.

I'm almost embarrased to show you this. I guess I was licking my lips or something?

Can you tell that my life is never boring?

Back in the saddle again.

My good man and I got back from our trip to Little Rock on Sunday and we are sadly, back in the real world. In all honesty though- things aren't really that bad here in Hotlanta. I've had two really good days at work so far and am feeling like I can handle these 6 weeks that are left. I really do love my little class and I know that 6 weeks will just fly by.

We did a bunch of different things while we were home and we stayed with a bunch of different people. We really did have the best time visiting with people and enjoying the trees and fresh air.

I took quite a few pictures during the trip and thought I'd show you some.

Well, hello April

As of Friday at 4:00 PM...

My Spring Break officially began. I'm sorry I haven't posted in two weeks and I know you have all been hanging on the edge of your seat. The week before Spring Break  is never easy (at least in the elementary school world). The kids need a break. The teachers need a break. Now throw in five days straight of rain- which means no outdoor recess-which means the kids have all of this extra energy on top of the energy that is already there for Spring Break and you get one exhausting week.

That's okay though. Spring Break is here and my good man and I are hitting the road tomorrow morning to head home and I. can. not. wait.

Last night I realized that I just might be a white-trash/ redneck and I am becoming more and more okay with that. Yesterday was a beautiful day in our neighborhood so my good man grilled up some cheeseburgers and I made up something sort of like an apple crisp for dessert. (Because when you live in the South you almost always have to have dessert after every supper. It is kinda like a rule.)

Then we watched...wait for it...True Grit...while we sipped champagne.

Oh yes we did. That is straight class right there.

We found this at Publix and it just might be my new favorite.

Who knew Barefoot made a moscato spumante Champagne?

I just might have to find reasons to sip champagne more often.

I'm off to put up some Easter decorations (because I'm a little bit white-trash/redneck, remember?) and then have dinner with some friends.

It's safe to say that my Spring Break is in full swing.
