My heart might burst.

*Friday was the last day of school for the kids.

*Two more days for me and my summer begins. Yesssssss.

*I got three bottles of wine for "end of the year gifts." Yessssss.

*My brother is coming to visit tomorrow.

*My good man and I have been hanging out on the porch at night playing Skip-Bo. Pretty much my favorite card game ever. (Even though I have to let the Mr. win sometimes.)

*I bought three new candles at Bath and Body Works (on sale 2 for $20) last night.

*I bought these cute wedges for the summer today.
*We made it to church on time this morning and hit the jackpot with the songs!
We sang Our God is Alive. We sang Mansion, Robe, and a Crown. We sang The Greatest Commands. We closed with When We All Get to Heaven. If I ever get to pick the lineup you better believe I'm including all four of those babies!

*90's Weekend on Star 94. Who cares that they play the same old songs over and over. All I know is that I get a free pass to sing along to some Backstreet Boys and Destiny's Child without judgement.

Happy Weekend!

My baby brother.

My baby brother graduated from college last weekend and I feel old.

How did my cute little red haired brother who couldn't say his "r's" turn into a grown up?
How is he really old enough to make decisions about a career and a family and what he wants to do with the rest of his life?

If I'm not careful this will turn into a "sappy big-sister brag fest" so I'll end it.

(But let me just squeeze in that this kid has just about the best sense of humor of anybody I know and I can't wait to see where his life takes him. Maybe it is just the teacher in me but Oh! The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss keeps playing over and over in my mind).

I'm proud of you, Garrett!

I really do love my job...

I've told you many times that there are lots of good things about being a teacher.
I love that I get at least 21 hugs a day.

I love that I'm teaching these kids how to read.
I love Summer Vacation.
And Spring Break.
And Winter Break.
And Thanksgiving Break.

And Fall Break.
In all seriousness though, I really do love my job. I have such a fun group this year and I'm going to miss them next year.
Last week was Teacher Appreciate Week (yeah, once again I'm behind) and I felt so appreciated. I was greeted with with coffee in the mornings, sweet notes from parents and kids, and more flowers than I can even begin to count.
Now let's not forget the dark chocolate.

The parents also did something that I think is so cool. Ever since the beginning of the year our class has been collecting plastic lids. We used them to make two murals for our school auction. They both turned out so cute and I have been kicking myself for not getting a picture of them.

Look at what they made me...

Isn't it neat? The whole thing is made out of lids. All of the kids signed the back of it and they were so proud when they surprised me with it last week.

I really do love my job...

The Great Outdoors

Word's worst blogger-right here!
Sorry about that. Life just gets busy but not really with stuff worth blogging about it seems, you know?

This weekend we hit up the great outdoors with four sweet friends. We ate great amounts of food, I drank about a thousand Diet. Dr. Peppers, ate S'mores like they were going out of style, and listened to a radio station that plays all 90's music all weekend. (Hello, Backstreet Boys and Wallflowers!)

Mostly we just enjoyed being around each other since we will all go our separate ways soon. Aside from forgetting pillows and accidentally making my good man sleep on the ground with no padding, I would consider it a huge success!
